By accessing or using the TowReady towing capacity calculator, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this site.

1. Math Estimation Tolerances & Limits

The calculations, mathematical ratings, and safety thresholds generated by TowReady are built on baseline mechanical relationships, standard SAE J2807 compliance definitions, and user-provided inputs. These figures are estimates and do not represent certified professional vehicle engineering advice.

Vehicle configurations vary significantly. Real-world parameters such as optional equipment, aftermarket suspension modifications, cargo weight placement, axle gear ratios, towing hitches (conventional vs. weight-distribution vs. fifth-wheel), tire conditions, and passenger weights will dynamically alter actual capacities.

2. Mandatory Door jamb & CAT Scale Auditing

To ensure safety on public roadways, every operator MUST perform the following checks:

• Placard Verification: Verify exact Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR front/rear), and maximum payload limit listed on your truck's physical tire and loading information sticker located on the driver's side B-pillar door jamb.
• CAT Scale Weigh-in: The only method to verify real-world, 100% accurate weight compliance is to perform a 3-pass weigh-in at a certified commercial scale (such as a CAT Scale) with your tow vehicle and trailer fully loaded for travel.

3. Strict Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall TowReady, its developers, partners, or parent organizations be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to: structural frame failure, suspension damage, brake decay, highway accidents, law enforcement citations, property damage, or bodily injury/loss of life) arising out of or in connection with your use of or reliance on our calculation models.

You assume 100% legal responsibility for the safety, speed, loaded cargo, and operation of your vehicle and trailer setup.

4. Acceptable Educational Use

TowReady grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and fully revocable license to access this site free of charge for personal educational and informational safety computations. Commercial crawling, scraper bots, or bulk database harvesting without express written permission is strictly prohibited.
