What to include so a correction can actually be made

Corrections that affect safety are prioritised over everything else. The limit on how fast one can be published is almost never willingness — it is having enough detail to verify the claim against a source. If you are reporting a wrong figure, these four things are what turn a report into a fix:

1. The page. The URL, and the sentence or table cell that is wrong — several pages carry similar numbers for different configurations.
2. The exact configuration. Year, model, cab, bed, engine, axle ratio and package. A tow rating that looks wrong is usually a rating for a different build, so this is the field that resolves most reports.
3. The source that disagrees. A link or a photo of the manufacturer towing guide, owner’s manual page, or door-jamb label. For a legal claim, the statute or agency page — this site cannot cite an aggregator, so a Justia or FindLaw link cannot replace one.
4. What you think it should say. Even roughly. It is the fastest way to tell a typo apart from a misreading.

Substantive corrections are published in the corrections log with the date and what the page used to say. If you would rather not be credited, say so and you will not be.

For anything that is not a correction — a calculator that behaves oddly, a guide that does not answer the question it promises, a suggestion for a tool, or a press or partnership enquiry — the same form is the right route. Please say which it is in the subject so it can be handled in the right order.
